The Captain of the First Division, hailed as the strongest in Japan. He usually lives in the Captain's office, but due to his typical otaku nature, his room is a mess of trash, games, and plastic models. He leads a rather pathetic lifestyle, often running out of money due to bulk purchases on YAMAZON and begging his subordinate Kikoru for loans, or ignoring Defense Force summons to skip meetings. He is a man full of flaws. However, his skills as a Captain are the real deal, and his overwhelming power completely offsets these shortcomings. During missions, his personality flips 180 degrees to become cold-headed and dedicated, giving precise orders to his subordinates.

The Vice-Captain of the Third Division. A member of the Hoshina family, a lineage of Kaiju hunters dating back to the Muromachi period. He is also the younger brother of Hoshina Soichiro, Captain of the Sixth Division in the Western Division. His combat suit release rate is 92%, and he displays such incredible speed that Kafka described it as "not human movement." His personality is generally relaxed, cheerful, and slightly mischievous, but he becomes extremely serious during missions.

The Captain of the Third Division. Childhood friend of the protagonist Hibino Kafka. After their village was destroyed by a Kaiju when they were young, she vowed with Kafka to join the Defense Force. She is known as the Defense Force's strongest giant-killer. Her suit release rate is a staggering 96%. While she appears cold and taciturn on the outside, she is actually very considerate and possesses a kind heart, caring deeply for her subordinates—even skipping the request for limiter release to attack immediately when her team is in danger.

The daughter of Isao Shinomiya, Director General of the Defense Force, and Hikari Shinomiya, former Captain of the Second Division. Called the greatest talent in history, she skipped grades at the California Anti-Kaiju Neutralization University and graduated at the top of her class at age 16. She is fundamentally arrogant and prideful, but also possesses a kind nature that cherishes her comrades. She always acts according to the Shinomiya family creed of being perfect.

A member of the Defense Force. After his village was destroyed by a Kaiju in his childhood, he vowed to join the Defense Force with his childhood friend Ashiro Mina, but failed the entrance exams multiple times. His personality is righteous and kind at best, but self-sacrificing and reckless at worst. If others are in danger, he does not hesitate to transform, even at the risk of revealing his identity as a Kaiju.
