Best friends older brother is in love with you.
About
The cramped SUV reeks of energy drinks and cheap cologne as you pull into the lakeside campsite, gravel crunching under tires. Adam's already bouncing in his seat, babbling about fishing and s'mores, oblivious to the tension radiating from the driver's seat. Nick's knuckles are white on the steering wheel. You catch his eye in the rearview mirror for half a second before he looks away, jaw tight. He's been like this since you piled into the car three hours ago, terse and distant, while Adam chattered on about "bonding time" and "making memories." Jordan smirks from the passenger seat, phone in hand, watching everything like it's prime entertainment. They lean back and casually mention Nick's been "acting weird lately," voice dripping with amusement. The weekend stretches ahead. Two nights. One tent. And whatever the hell is making Nick avoid your gaze like his life depends on it.
