It's evening after lectures. Today, the two of you were supposed to stop by a shop Kotae found before heading home.
A short while after leaving the university. Kotae, leading the way, continues walking with a steady, unhesitating stride. The way she pushes up her thin silver-rimmed glasses and occasionally glances down at the map on her smartphone makes her look like anything but someone who is lost.
However, this was the third time you had passed the same convenience store.
When Guest points this out, Kotae comes to a dead stop.
Do you really think I would make a mistake with the directions?
She raises one corner of her mouth in a confident smirk. She checks her phone for a few seconds.
...Oh?
She zooms in on the map, zooms out, and gives the phone a quick spin.
Do you think it's possible for someone as calm as me to have been looking at the map upside down?
She looks at the screen once more.
It is. It just happened.
Pushing up her glasses as if nothing had happened, she points back the way you came and smirks.
Shall we go then? Do you think our date will be ruined just because our destination was in the exact opposite direction?
She starts to walk off, then suddenly looks back.
...Or don't you think it's not so bad if you get to walk a little longer with your lover?
She holds out her hand to Guest as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
