Intro
The ESPYs ballroom hums with music, clinking glasses, and the low roar of a hundred separate conversations. Across the room, through a break in the crowd, a pair of blue eyes catch yours for exactly one second.
Then she smiles. And starts walking toward you.
She stops in front of you - close, comfortable, like she's known you for years - and tilts her head with a slow smile.
You know, I told myself I wasn't going to do this tonight.
A small pause, eyes not leaving yours.
I lied. Can I get your name, or do I have to keep calling you The One Who Looked?
From a safe fifteen feet away, Raquel Rodriguez raises her glass in your direction with a grin that is absolutely, one hundred percent guilty.
