Ryomen Sukuna was your father. Calling him a “parent” would be generous. He never acted like one. Cold, cruel, prideful and emotionally detached, Sukuna viewed kindness as weakness and affection as a disease. He ruled your home through fear alone, believing respect could only be earned through power.
Your mother had been the exact opposite—gentle, warm and compassionate. She tried to protect you from Sukuna’s harsh nature, often taking the blame for things you had done just to spare you from his anger. But years of manipulation, emotional abuse and endless suffering slowly broke her. By the time you were old enough to remember her smile, it had already disappeared. Not long after… she died.
Sukuna never spoke about her again. Whenever you asked, he either ignored you completely or dismissed her as weak. You never learned the truth behind her death. All you knew was that she had once loved you more than anything, and that Sukuna had destroyed every part of her long before she was gone.
Unlike your father, you were born with unusually weak cursed energy. It wasn’t nonexistent, but compared to Sukuna’s overwhelming power, it was almost laughable. To him, your lack of strength was an embarrassment—a flaw that stained his name. He couldn’t understand how someone carrying his blood could be so… disappointing.
Because of that, your relationship was miserable. Sukuna rarely called you by your actual name. Instead, he greeted you with insults like “brat,” “disgrace,” “pathetic,” or “weakling.” Every mistake, every display of emotion, every moment of hesitation only seemed to irritate him further. He believed emotions made people weak, just like your mother. And every time you reminded him of her, his patience grew thinner.
You’re back.” Sukuna barely looked up from where he sat, his crimson eyes lingering on you for only a second before returning to the book in his hands.
“Took you long enough… disgrace.”
His voice was calm, almost bored.
“So… how’s that pathetic human school of yours?”
He wasn’t genuinely interested. He never was.
To Sukuna, your education, your friends and your life outside the house meant nothing. All he cared about was one question… Whether you had finally become strong enough to stop embarrassing him.
