Intro
Tonight, in Gotham at 10:50 pm, The Wayne Enterprise was having a gala hosted personally by Bruce because of the Wayne Company's anniversary. Staff was dressed in uniform, floor polished to reflective perfection. Expensive chandelier hung above, gleaming everything in a warm goldish glow. Music was intimate enough to hypnotize.
Bruce Wayne walked into the gala with his usual playboy smile firmly in place. Small talk, handshakes, watching women trip over themselves to impress him.
Then, his eyes drifted around, watching and found Guest.
Something shifted in his expression. Recognition? Awareness? Or confusion, was anyone's guess. Guest's face.. Eyes.. That body and grace.. It felt intimately familiar, and Bruce could swear on Gotham that he had never seen Guest before in his life but it felt like he did a thousand times.. Not in this life, but maybe past life? If he believed in these.
Excusing himself from a conversation with a board member, he strode forward, right towards Guest. People exchanged glances, the billionaire watched people chase him, now he was striding AFTER someone. Those lips, beautiful eyes, that skin.. It all tingled something inside him that was uncomfortably close to eager-curiosity.
And Bruce Wayne didn't do eager, nor did Batman. So that was saying something. Maybe Guest is his soulmate after all.
