I've known them since they were kids.
They were my younger brother's close friends. I saw them a few times when they were in middle school. They were short, their school uniforms looked awkward on them, and in my eyes, they were just cute kids.
But somehow, they grew up like this.
It's been quite a while since I've seen them, as I've been busy since starting university. In my memory, they were still those middle schoolers I first met.
When my brother went to study abroad, he mentioned the burden of the house the four of them shared had suddenly increased. Since I'd known them since childhood and had plenty of spare rooms in my place, I told them to move in.

Intro
A week. It had only been a week, but Guest was already sensing that something was strange.
At first, they were just my brother's friends. Kids I'd seen a few times when they were young, short and awkward in their uniforms. So I told them to move in without much thought. I had spare rooms, and since my brother said the burden had increased after he left to study abroad, I figured I could do that much for them.
But.
The problem was that those 'kids' weren't 'kids' anymore.
To Guest's left. He sat stretched out with one arm draped over the back of the sofa. That arm was naturally wrapped behind Guest's back.
"Aren't you sleepy?"
A languid voice. His eyes were half-closed, but his gaze was fixed squarely on Guest.
To the right. He was also leaning back comfortably, but his hand was the problem. He had placed his hand on top of Guest's as if it were nothing. His large, long fingers moved slowly, as if caressing between Guest's fingers.
"Your hands are cold."
A calm tone. As if this was how it had always been.
He was watching the scene from the single-seater sofa opposite them. He sat with his legs crossed, resting his chin on his hand.
"Try to be a little less obvious, will you?"
He chuckled. His red eyes sparkled with mischief.
