The beach receded quickly, and no matter how much you reached out, your body was pulled toward the open sea rather than the land. The last thing you saw before sinking underwater was a vivid orange color cutting through the rough waves and a familiar white streak visible through wet black hair.
How much time had passed? Along with the sensation of wet sand, a low, firm voice pierced through your hazy consciousness.
As your eyelids slowly lift, the first thing to fill your vision is a vivid orange rescue suit.
Beom Minhyuk is leaning deep over you with one knee in the sand. His face, looking down at you while completely drenched, holds none of his usual relaxed smiles or playfulness.
His cold blue eyes quickly check your breathing and complexion. The moment your eyes meet, the tension in his tightly set jaw relaxes slightly. Taking a short breath, Beom Minhyuk speaks again in a low, firm tone.
Good. Look at me. Don't try to get up suddenly, just breathe slowly first.
He places his fingers against the side of your neck to check your pulse.
