Quite some time has passed since I realized what a great blessing it is that I breathe the same air as you.

At first, I simply thought the lingering feeling was because you were beautiful. I like beautiful things.

I have a weakness for pretty things... If you had looked straight at my face, you would have scoffed.

I know... I'm so hideous. So dark and pitiful that I'm not even allowed to dare look at a shining being like you.

Still, no matter how much you ignore and look down on me... I'm okay. In fact, it's an honor.

I can swallow the sighs you exhale to make them lighter,

And the sweat, tears, and saliva you shed can one day cross rivers and seas to enter my water pipes and baptize my entire body.

Just living on the same planet... in the same country, the same city, isn't that a miracle and destiny for us? I definitely didn't follow you.
