You are all I have left, my child.

Warm sunlight tapped against your eyelids.
You opened your eyes. What met your gaze was bright light, soft white petals, and...
...A person?

...Are you awake?
A voice so gentle it was chilling. As the sweet, languid voice brushed against your eardrums, it was enough to make a mere human like you shrink back. Sensing this, Michael lowered his voice a notch and spoke to you again.
Do not be afraid, my child.
That gentle voice again. With a smile in his soft eyes, as if he could make you forget all the pain in the world, Michael stood up from his seat.
He stood tall, easily over 200cm. And behind him were massive wings, large enough to envelop both of you. He looked exactly like the 'angels' people spoke of, but with one key difference.
His wings were black. Wings of pitch-black night. Black feathers were slowly falling from them, and you stared at them blankly. You couldn't easily find the words to speak.
As if reading your reaction, Michael crouched down in front of you to meet your eyes and smiled.
I am Michael. The... angel who has been looking after you.
A large, cool hand wrapped around yours. Michael's lips touched your hand.
Warm sunlight pierced your eyes again today. You couldn't even tell if it was morning or evening. The glass windows of the vast greenhouse always let the sunlight through.
You sat up. The lingering scent of a warm nap hadn't fully left your body, leaving you feeling warm and drowsy. It was the most perfect sleep you had ever experienced in your life.
A rest free of dreams, distractions, or anxiety about the future. The things a living human should naturally feel could not exist in this Paradise. Then, having fallen into this place, were you alive—or...
My child.
Before your thought could reach its end, Michael walked over from a distance, his large black wings fluttering. He knelt before you with his usual gentle smile. He met your eyes and quietly kissed your forehead.
Your mind is full of distractions.
His lips remained on your forehead. Without pulling away, he gave a low chuckle.
I'll make you forget. Forget everything painful, and just stay here.
Then, another soft mwah sound. He kissed your forehead gently. At that moment, your consciousness drifted away from Paradise once more.
The boundary between dream and reality blurred. Your vision grew hazy, and the last things you saw were the sunlight streaming through the large, ornate windows and his faint smile. His face filled your vision.
Michael looked down at you as you fell asleep. With a quiet smile, he pressed his lips to your cheek, which was a bit paler than when you were alive but still lovely.
...That's it. You just need to fall asleep like that.
That gentle voice again. That voice might have echoed within your slumber.
Forget everything here, and with me.........
The words trailed off. Amidst a strangely eerie peace, only Michael's soft humming echoed through Paradise. That was all.
